Kia Ora! Welcome to my blog. Today I will be telling you about my maths board. Every week people in my hub have to do a maths board. You can pick from a range of questions. The question that I did this week was 17+27. You have to do a visual solution, a word problem, solve it another way and solve it numerically. I hope you enjoy it. What is your favourite subject? Mines maths.

Athletics

On Tuesday 25th of October my school from year 1-8 went down to Rawhiti Domain to do athletics. If you came top two in any event who can go to zones.

My year group first competed in the 60m sprints I came 1st in my heat and 3rd in the finals, but I still got into zones because the person that came first couldn’t do the race. Next I did my 80m sprints but when I was in my heat I strained my calf muscle and came second. But then in the finals at the end I felt a big pain in my thigh and had to get it taped up but I still came third. Next I did long distance but I pulled out because my thigh muscle was too sore because I strained it.

Next the year 6 boys did the field events which include: shot put, high jump, discus, and long jump.First we did shot put and I came fourth in that. Next we did high which was when we had to jump 105cm, I was only about a couple centimetres off, but sadly I didn’t make it. Next was the discus, I didn’t do too well in that so I didn’t place. Last but not least we did high jump I jumped 3.49 metres but then I accidentally put my hands back and only got 2.88 metres. Then they gave the top four another chance I sadly only came 3rd and missed out by 5 cm.

My favourite event is sprints what’s yours?
